Our $690 review unit of the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5258 came with a 4GB of RAM, a second-generation Intel Core i5-2410M processor and a 640GB hard disk drive rated at 5400 rpm. The Satellite L755-S5258 also has an in-built 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, microphone and a built-in webcam, and also an HDMI port. The Satellite L755-S5258 comes fitted with 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium OS pre-installed.

In our performance test the Satellite L755-S5258 performed decently, but still the performance wasn’t equivalent to the top performers. But considering the price of the system we would say that the system performed extremely well.

The lid of the system has a huge, pale silver Toshiba logo in the centre and the complete cover is rather smooth. The interiors for the system have curved insets for several features including the track pad and speakers buttons. Overall all these design elements of Satellite L755-S5258 makes it looks like an innovative cartoon product and although we didn’t liked the overall design of the system, but we think that it surely will impress some of the users.

The best thing here with the Toshiba Satellite L755-S5258 is that despite its unappealing design, the system is strong. The Satellite L755-S5258 weights 5.7 lbs, which is pretty decent for a 15.6-inch laptop and is only 1.5 inches thick.

The Sony VAIO E Series (VPCEJ15FG) also isn’t one of the finest performer that ever entered our laboratory and we found the system struggling during our multitasking testing, we did find  ourselves a tad sluggish on a small number of instances. This is why we think that a slightly more powerful laptop having a quad-core processor, a fast hard drive and a tad more RAM definitely would have taken care of the sluggishness of the system. But considering the fast recovery of Sony VAIO E and the rigorous nature of what we subjected the system to, and that’s the reason why we think that it wont trouble the casual or everyday user.

The Sony VAIO E Series (VPCEJ15FG) has battery life of around 3 hrs. In our battery testing we found the system lasting for hardly Sony VAIO E Series (VPCEJ15FG), but considering the sternness of our performance testing we are sure that the battery easily will last a bit longer than our test.

Finally we would say that the Sony VAIO E Series (VPCEJ15FG) doesn’t have the same price tag that we saw with the other systems from Sony, which certainly is a refreshing change. But still we would say that the system is a lot more expensive than the similarly equipped products from the other affordable brands such as Medion and Acer. We don’t have any problems in recommending the Sony VAIO E Series (VPCEJ15FG), as the system has really impressive build quality and delivers decent performance.

The updated HP DM1 laptops have an 11.6 inch LED display. The system is less than 1 inch thick, weighing about 3.5 lbs. The HP DM1 has a soft rubber touch surface, which makes it a tad additional durable, thanks to the restricted printing method which is being used for the notebook.
